Swisscom Cancellation

There are many reasons to cancel your Swisscom subscription, and there are different things to consider for each one. Swisscom handles all cancellations - mobile and home - by phone on 0800 40 50 60 or via online chat. The customer service will give you any further information you need.

The minimum contract periods are particularly important to note with Salt. These must be adhered to. If you fail to do so, you may incur high penalties. You can find out how high these are and what else you need to watch out for here.

After expiration of the minimum contract period (usually 12/24 months)

If the contract is terminated before the end of the minimum contract period, basic charges must be paid for the remaining term.

Alternatively, a Swisscom subscription can be paused for up to 12 months.

You can easily cancel a Swisscom subscription via the customer service hotline 0800 40 50 60. To avoid long waiting times, you can also have Swisscom call you - you book the call on the website. Alternatively, you can also cancel online via chat.

This is what you must bear in mind when terminating your contract with Swisscom

Mobile subscriptions with Swisscom can only be cancelled after the minimum contract period has expired. This is 12 months for mobile subscriptions. The notice period is two months. As long as the cancellation period and minimum contract duration are adhered to, there are no additional costs for cancellation. If you want to cancel before the minimum contract period expires, you will be charged the remaining monthly fees until the minimum contract or extension period expires. For this reason, it is recommended to wait for the minimum contract period.

This is what you should do when you change your subscription

You want to switch to a new provider and keep your number? Then let Swisscom know before you sign up for a subscription with a new provider.  Swisscom will then take care of both the cancellation and the number porting. Here, too, the minimum contract period and notice periods must be observed.

Alternative: Pause Swisscom subscription

Are you planning a longer stay abroad or don't need your cell phone for a certain period of time? Then you can alternatively pause your Swisscom cell phone subscription instead of cancelling it. This break can be between 2 and 12 months. During this time, the monthly fees will be waived. Exception: It is not possible to pause your mobile subscription if you are actively paying for your cell phone in installments.

The Swisscom Home subscription includes fixed network, Internet and TV. For this complex combo deal, there is a bit more to consider when canceling than with the cell phone subscription. Just as with the cell phone subscription, a notice period of 60 days applies here and the cancellation is carried out by calling Swisscom Customer Service on 0800 40 50 60 or via online chat.

Fees for Swisscom Home cancellation

No termination fees are incurred until the minimum contract period has expired. This is between 12 and 24 months in each case. In any other case, there are additional charges. For example, in the event of premature termination, the monthly recurring basic charges will be billed until the end of the minimum contract period. After the end of the minimum contract period, the cancellation period of two months must be observed.

Return Swisscom hardware

If you cancel your Swisscom contract, the hardware - router and TV box - is no longer needed. For this reason, you must return them to Swisscom within 30 days. If you do not return them, you will be charged CHF 150.

Transfer Swisscom Home subscription to a third party instead of cancellation

Your flatmate has moved out and the Swisscom Home subscription is in his name? Don't worry, you can easily have it transferred to you. Simply register the change online with Swisscom using the change of owner form.

What happens to your Swisscom Home subscription when you move house?

When you move, you must of course take your Swisscom Home subscription with you. To do this, Swisscom must be informed of your move as early as possible. You can do this yourself online in the customer center. This saves you the switching fee of CHF 69.

If you need a technical specialist to set up the connection in your new home, you can either commission this yourself or do this for CHF 129.00 via Swisscom. Swisscom will inform you if this technical work is necessary.
